Township 7 Reserve 7 2017

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIn 2017 the Reserve 7 mix was 51/28/20/1 merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot, mostly grown at estate-owned Blue Terrace Vineyard in Oliver, with cabernet franc from the Raju Vineyard and small amounts of merlot from Front Yard in Naramata. It's all aged in American and French barrels for 24 months, leaving a light, but youthful, oak footprint, yet to be dispersed. The initial attack is rich and full-bodied with enticing savoury cedar, and cassis. The mid-palate has a fine sense of elegance, mixing sagebrush, blackcurrants, and black plums streaked with vanilla and toasted oak. Well made and certainly a wine you can wait on for another three to five years. The move toward finesse is a lovely direction to head.Tasted: 28 March 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
