Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe blend is an enticing 72/28 mix of grenache and syrah, all hand-harvested in the middle of October. It's bone dry and very refreshing thanks to its low-ish 12.5 percent. The colour is pale copper, the nose a peach/strawberry affair, dusted in South Okanagan sagebrush. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaYou know when you rock up to a party carrying a mag, you're the star of the show. Keep that in mind this summer when you bring this shining 72/28 grenache / syrah, from Kiln House Vineyard in Penticton, and Sunrise Vineyard in Oliver, respectively. The grenache was whole cluster, while the syrah was destemmed; both underwent a long, cool ferment in neutral French oak (no MLF) with 2.5 months aging on lees with battonage before bottling. Strawberry, cherry, watermelon, wild raspberry ride a slick palate, padded with glycerin, and seasoned with mineral salts and dried Okanagan desert sage.
