Monterey County, Central Coast, California, United StatesA consistent performer from Monterey, this percent pinot noir is aged in oak barrels for nine months, but only 17 percent are new. Now below 14 percent alcohol, this juicy, earthy, pinot has plenty to offer and will surprise even the most discerning pinot noir fans. Look for black plum, cherry, rhubarb, all flecked with freshly overturned loam and minerality, with just a dusting of barrel spice and a lick of umami on the finish. Easy sipping.
