Napa Valley, California, United StatesIf you want to know what’s up in Napa, look at this merlot’s modern mix: 89.1 percent merlot, 6.7% cabernet sauvignon, 1.8% petit verdot, 1.2% malbec, 1.2% cabernet franc. Keyes Vineyard on Howell Mountain makes up 79 percent of the blend, as evidenced by the blackberry and black currant. The red cherry and rhubarb notes come from Oakville. It is a bigger version (mountain fruit) than the 2013 but still maintains its attractive savoury finish.
