M. Chapoutier Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Rouge 2017
Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Roussillon, Sud de France, FranceWhat can you say about this label that hasn't been said? From its floral, savoury, black fruit aromas to its juicy, plummy, wild, smoky, peppery, fruit flavours, it is simply delicious. It is a fun one to serve your wine geek friends and watch their reaction. You can drink it now or over the next three to five years. A biodynamically farmed red selling at a bargain price: back up the truck. The AOC is Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages, and the cépage is syrah, grenache, and carignan grown in the Vallée de l'Agly. The fruit is hand-harvested, destemmed, and macerated for two to four weeks before ageing nine months in a 70/30 mix of stainless steel vats and mainly new demi-muids, with batônnage.Tasted: 16 October 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $16.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
