Trius Showcase Wild Ferment Chardonnay Watching Tree Vineyard 2017

Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaWinemaker Craig McDonald is behind this tight, citrus lined chardonnay that is wild fermented. The texture is creamy and layered but punctuated by lemon and lees to lend it a complex nature. Look for bright apple and pear with a subtle line of baked apple caramel and fresh, sour apple mash finish. Taut enough for creamy dishes, and I'm leaning towards mushroom risotto or a roasted turkey. No rush to drink this through 2022.Tasted: 18 June 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices: ON 55.00 winery direct Producer: Trius Winery at Hillebrand EstatesDistributors: Andrew Peller Import Agency
