Rutini Cabernet Sauvignon - Malbec

Rutini Cabernet Sauvignon - Malbec 2015

Mendoza, ArgentinaThis is a 50/50 split of Uco Valley cabernet sauvignon and malbec, aged in new 50/50 American and French oak, so you can imagine the power received matches the power intended. Thankfully, it comes packed into a 13.5 degrees declared package, so there is some restraint here. Ripe blackberry, black cherry is kissed with smoked stones, seasoned with toast, and perfumed with black plums. Tannins are big but well managed, lightly sticky, and well suited for the weight of the fruit, as is the acidity.
