8th Generation Vineyard Riesling Classic 2017

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis, the winery's Classic Riesling, is 32-year-old estate Okanagan Falls fruit, grown on sandy soils. Some early sulphur turns to broken stones, lime pith, bitter orange and earthiness along a medium palate, finishing with a burst of bittersweet lime and with crunchy acidity. This is dry, but constrained and at 13 degrees alcohol, leaving one feeling hemmed in. Perhaps with age this will relax some; certainly old vine riesling has the goods to go the distance. At present, this is a vibrant choice for lightly spiced and citrus-fragrant dishes.Tasted: 08 October 2018Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
