Atteca Old Vines Vieilles Vignes 2014
Calatayud, Aragon, SpainBodegas Ateca is based in Ateca, Zaragoza, fourteen kilometers from Calatayud. The slate soiled, higher elevation vineyard is made up mainly of small parcels of old vine garnacha. Ripe red fruit, supple leather and mulberry fill this dense garnacha, with tea leaves, balsamic, orange rind spicing the thick, slow palate. Tannins are chewy and the finish crusted with pink pepper.
