Spierhead Pinot Noir 2016
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe white label pinot noir is the mainstay of Spierhead, a winery that has made a name for itself for its trio of pinot noirs released each vintage. This is a mix of estate fruit plus a Summerland vineyard (Golden Retreat) and a blend of two Dijon clones (115 and 777). Soft and gentle, with sweet plum raspberry, fine peppery spicing and a fine, firm tug of tannins along the sides. This was barrel aged for ten months in French oak, but this youthful wine meets the wood with its ripe cherubic charm.Tasted: 26 February 2018Tasted by: Prices:BC | $25.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
