Haywire Chardonnay Secrest Mountain Vineyard 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom the higher altitude Secrest Mountain and its flat, alluvial, limestone layered soils, this vineyard is in its second year of transition to organic certification. After twelve hours of skin contact, destemmed grapes were pressed to concrete for native ferment and six months of aging. Ripe white peach, green apple, honeydew and ripe pear is awash with cream on a generous, textural palate. There is a snappy nutmeg spice seasoning this tropically-tilted and lush, if a touch sweet, chardonnay. Would be fine with a spicy, butter chicken dish.Tasted: 17 October 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices: BC 22.90 winery direct, private retail, restaurants Producer: Okanagan Crush Pad WineryDistributors: HQ Wine + Spirits
