Haywire Chardonnay Secrest Mountain Vineyard 2017

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe fruit is whole-bunch-pressed to egg-shaped concrete tanks during a long slow ferment. The result is a beautiful chardonnay led by its exquisite texture and length in the mouth. The fruit is pure and lively with notes of pear and green apple mixed with riper red apple/honeydew flavours. There is a terrific balance here in a lovely linear chardonnay that plays the elegant game. Secrest Mountain Vineyard has proven to be an excellent site for grapes. It is a 20-hectare site of alluvial soils interspersed with coarse gravel and sandy loam planted to a 15-hectare vineyard situated on a flat, south-west facing bench at 487 meters above sea level. OCP has been in charge of the farming since 2010; they purchased the vineyard in 2018, and it is currently under conversion to organic farming practices began in 2014.Tasted: 06 December 2018Tasted by: Prices:
