Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalThis Douro red is a blend of touriga nacional, tinta roriz, touriga franca and sousão, 20 percent of which are from vineyards over 70 years old. Aged for 16 months in a blend of 70/30 stainless steel/wood, this still has the dusky and grippy tannins of youth overriding the ripe and perfumed blackberry, black cherry and resin-laden fruit.
