Quinta do Vallado Douro Vinho Tinto 2000
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalDense dark rich colour. Savoury pepper/licorice root and black plum flavours everywhere. It's big and rich on entry and very powerful mid-palate fruit. This is quite an improvement over the drier earthier '99 thanks to a whack more fruit. Barbecued lamb will do the trick here taming the youthful dry tannins that should dissipate by 2005.
