Villa Antinori Toscana Rosso 2013
Tuscany, ItalyConsistent year over year, this accessable Toscana IGT is predominantly sangiovese, splashed with small quantities of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah. Twelve months in French, Hungarian, and American oak barrels were followed by eight months of bottle aging. Plush and soft in the mouth, with cushy plum, blackberry, tobacco and leather notes dominating, and a balsamic snap on the finish. Tannins are a bit astringent but otherwise this is a easy, welcoming red primed for pairing with meatballs. When you pick an entry level wine from a producer like Antinori, you needn't worry.Tasted: 23 January 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $24.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
