Spierhead Pinot Noir Cuvée 2015
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2015 Spierhead Cuvée, a blend of the best barrels from the harvest, is showing the generosity of warmth in the vintage. The attack is soft with a fair bit of glycerol over a mix of red plums and black cherries. The oak kicks in mid-palate adding weight and texture with a spicy, earthy back end. Still tightly wound and youthful, it looks to have the stuffing to age well. The flagship is a mix of clones aged in 100 percent French oak: 30 percent Pommard and 70 percent Dijon 115, 777, 828 and 667.Tasted: 13 January 2017Tasted by: Prices:BC | $38.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
