Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThis brash Maipo cabernet sauvignon is thick with menthol, green fruit and resin, overriding the blackcurrant and tart black cherry fruit underneath. Tannins are rustic-hewn and powdery, finishing quickly with bitter espresso. To its benefit, it has a freshness and welcome 13.5 percent alcohol, which may, counter-productively, equate to early picking to produce the potent green notes here.
