Les Crêtes Mon Blanc NV

Aosta Valley, ItalyLes Crêtes makes about 20,000 cases of wine a year from fruit grown in Italy’s Aosta Valley. This vineyard boasts a 16th Century Côteau la Tour (tower) situated at the highest point of the vines. The soils are a mixture of sand and calcareous rocks, 650 to 800 metres above sea level, and the vines, both indigenous and international vinifera, include petite arvine, petit rouge, fumin, mayolet, cornalin, chardonnay, pinot noir, syrah and muscat. The mon blanc is a property blend that sees no oak but does undergo six months of sur lies maturation with continual batônnage. The style is juicy with a mix of fresh fruit reminiscent of peaches and green apple with the aforementioned lees, citrus and a stony undercurrent. Perfectly dry, it will go with most seafood options including white fish, clams, mussels and crab.Tasted: 28 August 2017Tasted by: Prices:
