The nose is a mix of savoury medicinal scents with cedar, spice and smoke. The entry is polished and round but the tannins build up quickly and dominate the cassis fruit. The finish is somewhat acidic which accentuates the tannins. Time is required in the bottle for this variety to soften up and settle down.
