Castello di Gabbiano Chianti Classico Riserva 2013
Tuscany, ItalyItaly is well known for its oxidative style of winemaking, but this is very close to crossing the line into just plain oxidized. There’s some bruised apple, soy, and stewed dark fruits as well as leather and sun-dried tomato. The fruit character is slightly fresher on the palate, but overall it still seems past peak, with assertive tannins drying out the finish. A shame, because the concentration and length are above the norm.Tasted: 11 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:ON | $22.99 | 750ml | LCBO |
