Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA year down the road, the nose is cleaning up but the oak still dominates, covering the wine in coffee, vanilla, chocolate notes. The attack is dry and fresh with rich grainy tannins and a stony mineral underbrush with sour cherries and more chocolate, coffee and oak toast. This still needs more time in the bottle to settle down and release a soul. If you open it now, serve with grilled or roasted beef.Tasted: 27 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMeaty, leather, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, black berry, prune aromas with a bit of tobacco leaf and cranberry. Dry, fresh, round, elegant palate with light, grainy tannins. Lots of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, oak toast flavours with some cranberry, cassis, black olive, orange peel flavours with a bit of leather and roast beef. Solid effort here if somewhat oaky and tart on the finish. A little less winemaking and little more terroir is all this wine needs.Tasted: 06 January 2016Tasted by: Prices:
