ReVersanti Barolo 2011

La Morra, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyReversanti Barolo is one hundred percent nebbiolo that comes off three distinct hillsides: Castiglione Falletto, Barolo and the village of La Morra. The blend is a third of each, the yields are low at 2.5 tons per acre. The wine is aged for three years, two in Slavonian oak, one in bottle. Cherry jam, red florals, tobacco leaf and light smoke open this up front and direct nebbiolo and carry on to the medium bodied palate. Gritty, firm black-tea tannins support the ripe fruit well, and provide an excellent back drop for veal chop. Solid but lacks a bit refinement at this stage.Tasted: 11 January 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
