Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Brut 2004

Champagne, FranceGrande Dame is Veuve Clicquot’s prestige cuvée now just over 50 years in production. From a large harvest this Grande Dame shows no signs of over production. The nose is typically rich and open with floral, brioche, nutty, creamy baked pear notes. The acid is bright and carries through from the front of the palate to the back supporting the cherry, strawberry chalky, honey, baked apple, quince fruit and its creamy textures. Showing perhaps at its peak now but should age gracefully. The dosage is set at 9g/l. The 2004 is a blend is a 69/31/ of pinot noir and chardonnay made grands cru sites in Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy, Verzenay, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger. The reserve wine is kept on the lees in concrete.Tasted: 21 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
