Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Brut 1998
Champagne, FranceMade from a blend of eight Grand Ccru vineyards the mix is 2/3 pinot noir, 1/3 chardonnay. Light yellow with a refined white mousse. Honey, orange rind, floral, brioche, nutty, creamy, baked pear, cherry, quince aromas. Rich, high acid, concentrated and full but a bit austere and tight. Cherry, strawberry, tobacco, toasty, brioche, chalky, honey, baked apple, quince, floral, pear and creamy flavours. Lots of acidity and structure with some maturity but will continue to improve with 2-7 years aging.
