Van Westen Vineyards Vivre la Vie 2012
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaVivre is a 100 percent merlot from what is a generous, warm vintage. The nose is suitably fresh and intense with showy black plum and violet fruit aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, a surprise but a good thing, we think. The attack is drier and leaner than the nose would suggest with a resiny pencil lead finish and some dry tannins. Light and not ready. Give this another two years to see if it can settle down into a solid red.
