CrossBarn by Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Napa Valley, California, United StatesWhat’s going on in Napa? CrossBarn, really a second label, is a head turner in 2012. Devoid of heavy extraction and sweetness this wine is eminently drinkable now but its balance and suppleness suggest it will age effortlessly. I just love the juicy red, black and blueberry aromas and flavours. This is textbook stuff and a bargain by Napa standards. A super wine to list in restaurants. CrossBarn is night-harvested before the skins spend 20 days in contact with the juice. The oak is a mix of French and American but only 23 percent of the barrels are new; total time in wood is 18 months. Perfect for roast beef or your favourite steak cut. Drink now or through 2025.Tasted: 06 November 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $58.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
