Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaOne of the most impressive sparkling wines tasted during two weeks in Argentina, and a winner at the 2015 Argentina Wine Awards. This blend of pinot noir/chardonnay comes from vineyards 1200m up in Tupungato, Uco Valley. Twelve months on the lees shows up with gentle, elegant lees, light toast, almonds, subtle white florals and a whiff of orange and lemon pith. Bright citrus acidity and piercing lemon drive the chalky palate to a finely spiced, lingering finish, one calling out for fresh shellfish.
