M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2012
Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FrancePulled from the cellar, an extra year has amped this savoury, 70/30 grenache/syrah Côtes du Rhône, transforming the juicy freshness that's so charming in youth down a leathery, seamless garrigue-imbued trail. Anise, black cherry, cracked pepper and whiffs of iron on the nose. Smoothed some by time, the textured palate carries black cherry, dried violets, strawberry, lightly worn leather, dried sage, subtle mint and salted raspberry across slightly gritty, leathery tannins. Acidity is still bright and the finish ever spicy with white and black pepper. Still a charmer, now a more serious charmer, this biodynamic beauty is ready to drink now.Tasted: 19 June 2015Tasted by: Prices:

M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2012
Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceStill a classy little Rhone red with a savoury, black cherry nose. The fruit is a mix of grenache and syrah, the attack is juicy, smooth and fresh with peppery, black fruit flavours with a splash of meaty barnyard notes in the finish. This is a great weekend red and a label that should be on a lot of restaurant lists. Grilled lamb and beef are the ticket here.Tasted: 05 February 2014Tasted by: Prices:
