M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2009

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceThe Belleruche vineyards are spread across four separate Rhone departments in Drôme, Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche sitting above a mix of clay and calcareous alluvial deposits. Spicy, peppery, chocolate, light barnyard, liquorice, gamey, black cherry aromas. Rich, smooth, dry, slightly tannic but supple palate with good acidity. Black cherry, plum, orange, peppery, spicy, gamey, liquorice resin, dried herb, dark chocolate flavours. Full, warm, well balanced and still youthful. Drinkable now but worth aging 1-2 years. Good value here.Tasted: 14 January 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
