M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2012

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FrancePulled from the cellar, an extra year has amped this savoury, 70/30 grenache/syrah Côtes du Rhône, transforming the juicy freshness that's so charming in youth down a leathery, seamless garrigue-imbued trail. Anise, black cherry, cracked pepper and whiffs of iron on the nose. Smoothed some by time, the textured palate carries black cherry, dried violets, strawberry, lightly worn leather, dried sage, subtle mint and salted raspberry across slightly gritty, leathery tannins. Acidity is still bright and the finish ever spicy with white and black pepper. Still a charmer, now a more serious charmer, this biodynamic beauty is ready to drink now.Tasted: 19 June 2015Tasted by: Prices: BC 20.00 specialty listing AB 20.00 private wine stores QC 18.00 Producer: M.
