Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Dark Horse Meritage is a 60/30/10 merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc and its opens with a whack of south Okanagan savoury sagebrush aromatics mixed with tobacco, black olive and red fruit notes. The attack is soft and round with more savoury, cedar, black fruits and spice inter mixed with rich textures and length. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAnise, black liquorice, tar and damson plum open this dark, brooding blend. Cracked spices, black cherry compote and blackberry bush herbaceousness fill the toasty palate, with dusty, grippy tannins hinting to the ample use of American and French oak aging.
