Garage Wine Co. Lot 42 Cabernet Franc 2012

Pirque, Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThis is a good franc. Aromatic but restrained at another level with coffee, black cherry, cranberry, tobacco, smoky, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Ripe, round, rich, elegant and suave and juicy on the palate there’s a whack of ripe pipe tobacco, cedar, peppery, balsamic, chocolate, cranberry, plum, savoury herb flavours. Good intensity and balance. You could drink it now with a big piece of meat but you can wait for another five years too. Owner Derek Mossman has along term deal for these grapes first planted by William Fevre 26 years ago in an old river bed of the Rio Clarillo in Pirque. Super effort.Tasted: 17 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
