Anciano Gran Reserva Tempranillo Aged 7 Years 2005
Valdepeñas, Castilla-La Mancha, SpainMellow, sweet aged vanilla oak aromas and dusty cherry aromas lead into a well-worn sweet cherry, plum palate with earthy tea leaves, dried raspberry and dusky, dusty fruits on the finish. Grainy, worn wood tannins. Acidity dimmed with age but still relatively fresh. Nice to see a wine with a touch of age on the shelves. Pour with sage dusted light pork dishes.Tasted: 01 April 2015Tasted by: Prices:

Anciano Gran Reserva Tempranillo Aged 7 Years 2005
Valdepeñas, Castilla-La Mancha, SpainSavoury, black olive, leather, black cherry/prune nose with bits of cigar smokes. The attack is round but with some prominent mid-palate acidity and more liquorice root, tobacco, cedar, black cherry resin flavours. Simple old classic style that would be best with grilled meats to counter the acidity.Tasted: 02 April 2014Tasted by: Prices:
