Dunnigan Hills, Yolo County, California, United StatesShiraz is propped up with 8 percent cabernet sauvignon, all cured from the Dunnigan Hills AVA, in Yolo County in the Sacramento Valley of California. Assertive black currant and spicy dark plum overtop of smoked green brambles on the nose. The full bodied palate shows the same - ample smoked cassis fruit, blackberry gummies, with potent tannins smoothed and stretched out along a base of black peppercorns. Acidity is piquant, with a bit of branchy herbal interest. Simple but potent and ready for your roasted beef roast.Tasted: 21 March 2015Tasted by: Prices:
Dunnigan Hills, Yolo County, California, United StatesNot many changes here. Expect a fragrant, blueberry chocolate nose with bits of spice. The palate is similarly style with smoky, meaty, sweet black fruit and a dash of acidity and leather. A commercial effort best with ribs or burgers. The syrah is mixed with 10 per cent cabernet sauvignon and aged 26 months in an assortment of European and American oak (22 percent new). A solid mid-week red.Tasted: 26 October 2014Tasted by: Prices:
