Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSeven percent cabernet franc and two percent cabernet sauvignon liven up this merlot, one that has seen 20 months in French oak. The nose opens with subtle black plum and spice before a juicy, mouth filling palate of anise, black plum, blackberry thorn and black cherry peel. Wood tannins are a bit raggedy, and prop up (and dry out) this merlot a bit more than necessary.
