Davis Bynum Pinot Noir 2012
Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe Davis Bynum pinot is a mix of 115, 777, 667, 114, 113, Pommard and 2A and 23 grown on the gravelly loams soils of the Santa Rosa Plain in the Russian River Valley. The Bynum style or winemaker Greg Morthole's style is modern with fresher, lighter more red fruit pinot characters yet with flesh. Notes of cranberry punctuate the smooth, smoky, spicy, dusty, black cherry flavours with a touch of earth and celery salt. The alcohol is 14.5 percent yet it seem all in balance. Mushroom pastas, chicken or pork would all work here.Tasted: 17 January 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $35.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
