River Stone Cabernet Franc 2012
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe River Stone cabernet franc comes off ten year old estate wines grown just south of McIntyre Bluff. This is a big red at 14.7 percent alcohol with leafy chocolate red fruit nuances. The attack is chalky with weighty cranberry, red cherry, chocolate, leafy tobacco flavours with a hint of tomato leaf. Fresh juicy very cabernet franc. Cellar for now to shed some gritty tannin or serve with a well-marbled, T-bone steak. The wine spends 14 months in 100% French oak and should age well up to 5-7 years.Tasted: 05 August 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $26.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA stores, private liquor stores |
