John Duval Eligo 2009
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaEligo is a vineyard selection, one in Eden Valley and two from Barossa Valley made by winemaker John Duval. Duval once made Grange but finds solace in his own wine now. Eligo Duval's flagship and it gets 75 percent new French oak to ensure it goes the distance. Elegance and power is the goal. Expect a dense deep red wine awash in black fruit/mulberries with cedar spice and chocolate but with enough freshness to hold your interest. A glossy red with time on its side. If you must attempt to drink it now the match is grilled or roasted lamb. A blockbuster Oz shiraz.Tasted: 23 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $110.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Vintage West Marketing |
