Henschke Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Eden Valley, South Australia, AustraliaOne of the better Oz reds in the tasting but not quite up to the challenge. The nose is fresh and ripe with pure cassis and black fruit. The texture is a bit awkward, the tannins angular and the palate acidic and cedar-y with a touch of sour cherry fruit at this point and a long dry finish. Like many it needs time but where is the balance. The blend is 81/13/6 cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot.
