Chateau Haut Brion 2009

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceAnother meaty leather nose with smoke and toasted oak everywhere. The nose is refined but with bits of barnyard, leather, iron and cedar aromas. The attack is a bit with cedar, cassis, liquorice, cherry, herbal, notes. More class than fruit that is currently buried under a whack of new oak. The blend is 46% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 14% cabernet franc the alcohol an elevated 14.3 percent for haut Brion. This need a decade minimum to shed the oak but the price is crazy. Some will love this style but it is not my favourite. Another 100 point Parker wine.
