Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe '09 is the first ever Napa Valley cabernet from Joseph Phelps that is completely estate grown. It was aged 18 months in a combination of 50% new French and American oak barrels and 50% one to two year-old barrels. Rain ended a promising vintage in mid-October but not before producing this elegant cabernet. Expect a classic dark fruit flavoured wine with flecks of tobacco, spice, smoke and liquorice notes all with modest alcohol levels. This needs a bit of time in bottle or serve now with a T-bone steak.Tasted: 08 March 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $74.00 | 750ml | Fine Wine Boutiques |
