M. Chapoutier Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Bernardine 2010

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLa Bernadine is mostly grenache with small amounts of syrah and mourvèdre. In 2010 the red fruit character is much more prominent on the nose mixing pepper and raspberry pastille aromas with typical garrigue notes. The attack is round and generous, tannins already tracking toward supple. The palate is a mix of juicy raspberry/black plum fruit with flecks of orange, wet stone minerality, liquorice, more garrigue and coffee chocolate flavours. Love the balance and fruit intensity. Drink now or keep for five to ten years. The vinification is traditional at high temperature in concrete tanks and it is mature in concrete tanks from a year to fifteen months.Tasted: 03 February 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
