M. Chapoutier Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Bernardine 2000

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceNice gamey, smoky, black raspberry jam, peppery, rootsy, leather nose. Ripe, rich round, elegant style with very soft tannins. Warm peppery, licorice root, mineral, black cherry flavours with a warm, spicy, cardamom finish. A bit of tannin to shed over the next 2-3 years but good balance and intensity for current drinking also.Tasted: 26 January 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
