Sette Ponti Oreno 2007
Tuscany, ItalyThe 2007 Oreno is somewhat surprisingly drying out; perhaps it was too warm in 2007 to provide the necessary balance in the vineyard. The mix is 40/40/20 sangiovese/merlot/cabernet sauvignon. It's a big red for sure but it appears to be drying out showing more cedar and leather at five years and less cassis and blackcurrant fruit. This is a solid wine that is likely best drunk now through 2015 with hearty dishes or older hard cheeses.Tasted: 05 October 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $85.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Trialto Presents Liquid Art Fine Wines |
