Mission Hill S.L.C. Merlot 2009

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe SLC merlot is made from select blocks and rows grown at several Osoyoos estates. There wasn't much easy about the 2009 vintage but this 100 percent merlot prevailed. Look for a spicy, peppery, saddle leather nose with bits of barnyard, liquorice, tobacco, olive, vanilla and cherry jam aromas. The palate is full and round with juicy, peppery, coffee, chocolate, spicy, black cherry flavours flecked with resin, sagebrush and vanilla, black olive flavours. Expect this to fill in and improve over the next few years.Tasted: 02 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
