Mission Hill S.L.C. Merlot 2006
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRound, dry, full palate with some youthful, tight tannin but not extracted. Chocolate, coffee, dried cherry, plum, peppery, savoury, aromas which preview plum tapenade, cedar, orange peel, earthy, leather flavours. Good overall concentration and ripeness, but still needs a few years to soften the tannins. More restrained style for food like grilled steak or veal chop. Expect even better evolution from this wine five years down the road.Tasted: 10 August 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
