M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Méal Rouge 2009
Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThere's not a lot to choose from between Le Méal and Le Pavillon in 2009 in terms of quality. Here there's a smoky, peppery, garrigue, liquorice, animal, black cherry nose flecked with barnyard, tobacco, leather, floral, waxy, vanilla, savoury floral notes. The attack is smooth, fresh, juicy and slightly tannic with more peppery, smoky, savoury, black cherry, vanilla, orange, meaty, spicy, floral, blueberry, liquorice flavours. Long, elegant, warm and juicy which should age well over the next 10-20 years. Very fine.Tasted: 29 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $230.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
