John Duval Entity Shiraz 2007
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe '07 Entity is a slightly lesser version than the previous offerings. Still all Barossa but in this case with a little less vibrant fruit and some creeping acidity that takes away from its hedonistic style. The wine spends 17 months in French oak hogsheads. Expect a lifted, fairly alcoholic red with meaty juicy tarry boysenberry notes and plenty of soft, vanilla laced textures in the finish where the acidity pokes through. Good if not a great bottle with harmony but may be a bit too easy drinking for the price.
