Kendall-Jackson Sauvignon Blanc Vintner's Reserve 2009
California, United StatesWinemaster Randy Ullom continues to fine tune his sauvignon into a more food- friendly, fresh style sauvignon using Lake County fruit as the base adding the melon, lemon grass notes to Monterey's citrus; Mendocino's florals and Sonoma's pear. The five percent chardonnay/sémillon helps top broaden and enrich the palate. The KJ style is always friendly but we like the acidity and the fine line Ullom walks with this wine. A small quibble is the heat in the finish.
