Louis Bernard Gigondas 2007
Gigondas, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe Bernard Gigondas is located on the right bank of the Rhone at the foot of the Dentelles. The soil is red clay with small pebble-like stones. The blend is a mix of grenache, syrah, mourvèdre and cinsault. The '07 has warm, open nose with savoury, meaty undertones. On the palate the wine is soft, the textures glossy with fine depth of flavour. Look for bits of black plums, cocoa and savoury elements throughout. Drink now with roasted or grilled lamb or cellar for another three to five years.
